Every Sir Jacobs porcelain vessel is made by hand in our Johannesburg studio. Slip cast, fettled, fired to 1220°C. No two pieces are identical; subtle variation in surface and tone is the evidence of genuine craft, not a flaw to be corrected. What you receive has been made, not manufactured.

Olfactory notes

The composition.

Porcelana opens with lemon, bergamot and petitgrain Paraguay, citrus with a green, leafy edge. A luminous white-floral heart follows: jasmine, orange blossom and lily of the valley in quiet accord. Amber wood, musk, oakmoss and cedarwood settle beneath, clean and enduring, like glazed porcelain catching the light.

I  ·  First spray

The opening

Lemon and bergamot arrive first, with petitgrain Paraguay lending its green, leafy bitterness. The opening is bright but composed, citrus with restraint.

II  ·  The heart

The heart of the scent

Jasmine, orange blossom and lily of the valley open into a luminous white-floral heart. Nothing dominates; the three hold each other in quiet, glowing balance.

III  ·  The dry-down

The settle

Amber wood and cedarwood ground the florals as oakmoss adds depth and musk smooths the finish. What remains is clean and softly polished, porcelain in scent form.

Each porcelain vessel is designed and handmade locally by our in-house ceramicists.
