The design
Designed by our co-founder and ceramist Stephan Jacobs, the surface of this vessel began as an equation: the mathematics of ocean water, run as a simulation until a single moment of motion could be frozen in time.
I · The mathematical simulation
A digital ocean, paused at a single moment and sculpted into the surface you hold.
II · The vessel
That moment of motion, pressed into fine flint glass and finished in a blue-black gloss, the colour of deep water.
III · The light
Caustics: the patterns light makes when bent by water or curved glass.
Hold it to the light and the texture does what water does: it bends the light passing through, casting shifting patterns onto the fill inside, the way sun plays on the floor of a pool.

The material
The water texture only works in a glass clear enough to bend light truthfully. Fine flint is that glass: high clarity, high refraction, and a weight that feels like it means to stay.
Fine flint
A high-clarity glass prized for its optics. Light doesn't just pass through it; it is bent, split and returned, which is what makes the caustics possible.
The weight
Nearly half a kilogram of glass before a drop goes in, thick at the base and heavy in the hand. It stands its ground on a basin and steadies every pump.
The coat
A blue-black gloss over the pressed surface, the colour of deep water beneath a frozen swell.
Built like it intends to be refilled forever.
